Of all the things I did out of love for my Pomeranian puppy, something almost dead. And, surprisingly, many owners love toy dogs are unknowingly doing too much.
Kona was born on Thanksgiving Day in 2006, and continue to give thanks for life and love of our black and soft, sometimes mischievous, little boy. We did not know that the danger was hidden from him, hidden in plastic containers.
Between the ages of 3-6 months, which began to dry meat strips of chicken and Konatreaties. Buying from a pet store, the girl at the counter said, "dogs to be so dependent on them." Kona had become very attached to me, and suffered from anxiety when I went to work in the morning. A strip of chicken jerky seemed to calm her crying.
A month later, I received an email warning us that our breeder dogs get sick from chicken jerky from China. This is when I checked the bag. I was surprised to find three words in very smallback of the label on the bottom: Made in China. I emailed her back and told him I had been feeding for a while Kona. She replied that it might be good if you have no negative effect.
In the spring of 2007, Kona has suddenly become ill. She could not get out of bed the dog, and he put his tail as best he could to show he was happy to see me. What was wrong with him? He refused water. He refused to eat. However, he would accept a strip of chicken jerky. Ithis would give a bit of protein and livelihood.
The next day I noticed. Would be the chicken jerky. I gave up all power shots imports of chicken and an appointment with the vet. Until then, Kona hydrated with forced fluids and infant cereal. Within 2-3 days, had improved miraculously. Kona luck. I think because of his youth, and hope that our swift action, has managed to survive. We hope and pray that Kona does not suffer long-term sickeffects.
During this time, we were desperately seeking an alternative to foreign products mixed chicken for dogs. Ask the same pet store, ask the owner if he had taken pictures of each chicken was not China. He said: "We have no pet food from China." I took her to the ship and the treatment of cloud we saw together. All packages were those three little words in small print, "Made in China." E 'wassurprised!
I was having trouble finding the chicken jerky products for dogs that have been sent to the U.S.! Therefore, my husband and I began to experiment with mixed dried chicken shop to buy chicken, "USDA inspected" the chicken we buy for the family. Finally we come to a chip that was wild about Kona and not have to worry about the chicken imported more photos! started to call Kona Chips, but it was not until nearly a year after they began to shareKona Chips loving pet owners across the country.
In the fall of 2007, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued two notices of caution to feed dogs chicken jerky from foreign sources, and again in December 2008 (see link at end of article.) Notices to be issued by the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), which states that "the photos taken by China could be the cause of the disease in companion animals" and the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM), whichsaid, "an unusual number of dogs with disorders that have similar results of clinical and pathological tests associated with the ingestion of photos taken from a variety of brands. They report that these are usually small dogs that have a history of vomiting, lethargy and anorexia . All of them have used it in the pictures taken (mostly chicken jerky) in a few weeks before becoming anorexic. "The FDA has recommended that the evidence is not conclusive since no contaminants could be final onlyisolated, and while some products were removed from the shelves, no product has been invoked.
Unfortunately, many other dogs, especially the toys were not as fortunate as Kona. When doing research, I found www.laciessite.org our website dedicated to Lacie, a beautiful Cavalier King Charles Spaniel puppy, who died of kidney failure from eating what his owner calls "poisonous pet is uneven." touching stories are published, all dog owners whose animals were injured or died frompet alien. Keanu, a puppy from Lancaster, California, Chihuahua, who died in April 2008, within two hours of eating imported chicken chips mixed. The owner is devastated Keanu everywhere with him in his car and dog puppy bag. Ali, a healthy Italian Greyhound But four years after each treatment with contaminated injections. veterinary bills piled up, but once the route is stopped, the crisis has done well. While most of the races involved are small toysas yorkies, chihuahua, Italian Greyhound, Pomeranian, Maltese and mixed breed toy, large breeds are affected. Another heartbreaking story of a dog that has eaten chicken jerky from China, which has remained as a gift under the Christmas tree in December 2008, the poor dog died on Christmas Day, as their teachers put him in the car go to the emergency vet.
The FDA lists the following warning signs:
decreased appetite, although some may continue to eattrafficking, but not other food products
decreased activity or lethargy
vomiting and diarrhea, sometimes bloody
increased urination and drinking water
A single dog may display some or all of these symptoms. Blood tests may indicate kidney failure (increased urea nitrogen and creatinine.) Urine tests may indicate Fanconi syndrome (increased glucose).
Although most dogs appear to recover, some dogs have died. The dependence offoreign fire remains a mystery. The owners and veterinarians have noted the same way that dogs are sick but consume. The owner of a loving Yorkie recently contacted me with his story, when his young dog began to show some warning signs earlier. He shared with me, "Unfortunately, she's going through withdrawals from other bands and it was absolutely driving us crazy! We have never seen an agitated behavior. My husband says it's the way drugs work when I leftdrugs. His eyes glazed over and jumped on his lap, his legs placed on your chest and try to beat up on me! E testimony was so terrible, but we cling to our guns. It stopped being lazy and sleep all day and is most active. We had friends this weekend and could not believe how they acted! "
Chips Kona's mission is to help raise awareness about the dangers of foreign chicken uneven and devote our product to all dogswho have become ill or have died as a result. While dog owners are more aware of the massive pet food recalls and problems associated with foreign food products, imports of chicken products for the treatment of the dogs are in line the shelves in major retail chains. We love that dog owners to check the labels of these products by country of origin. And if farmers can forward this information to inform their new puppy owners, which would help raise awareness.
